For the second year in a row, I’m taking on the TCS New York City Marathon with Fred’s Team, the official running program of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK).
In December 2021, my older brother Philip was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Through the world-class expertise and commitment to care that his team at MSK gave him, we received many more months of laughs, tunes from his guitar, and nights watching the New Jersey Devils together than was thought possible. Philip passed in early 2023, and it is my mission now to support MSK in their work towards a cure for ALL as they did for him.
Philip is the reason I became a runner early in life. He was always the cool older brother that I looked up to and who I wanted to be. When he decided on a whim to attend a cross country practice in the fall of 2006, I naturally made the decision to follow him there. From that point on, running was the force that made our bond unbreakable. I would chase his times (unsuccessfully, of course) and we would talk for hours about our favorite courses, training programs, and who to watch out for in the professional scene. We would work out together on the track on MIT's campus when we were both undergrads at Northeastern University. As a member of Fred's Team, I want to take Philip once again on the world's greatest run: the New York City Marathon. It is the best way - and the most Philip way - for my brother Tyler and I to honor him and express our gratitude to those who took care of him during his treatment.

My goal is to raise $4500 for leukemia research. In the last decade alone, advancements in treatment such as CAR-T Cell Therapy have done wonders to improve patient outcomes, and I hope our contributions will continue the momentum. For Philip, and for a cure.
