Why I Run

I’m taking on the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon with Fred’s Team, the official running program of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). I was born and raised on Long Island, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center has long been a part of my family's life. Most importantly, my dad is currently receiving treatment at Sloan for stage IV lung cancer. Since his diagnosis in 2024, his condition has ebbed and flowed, and a genetic mutation has limited some of the most common treatment options available to him. We are now working closely with Dr. Ng and his care team to continue treatment. Sloan is one of the most important entities in our fight through this difficult journey. This entire journey has deepened my motivation to honor him and his fight through this opportunity. Being able to run on behalf of Fred's Team means carrying his strength, resilience, and hope with me through the course.

In addition to my dad, two of my aunts (his sisters) have also been treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center: one for lung cancer and the other for pancreatic cancer. Both are now in remission. Sloan has given my family exceptional medical care, but also time together which we are eternally grateful for. The impact of MSKCC is deeply personal to me and my family. I believe strongly in its mission to improve cancer care and see it daily through the love shown to my dad by his care team.

Running with Fred's Team would be far more impactful than just raising money for cancer research. It is a way for me to give back to the very people who care for my dad and support my family through this difficult time. I am fully committed to fundraising and have plenty of experience fundraising large amounts of money.
