Josh 4 Gig
I’m running this half marathon for Gianna “Gigi” Ambrosio, who started as my little sister Olivia’s best friend but grew to become the biggest part of our lives and so many others. She became our chosen family, our little sister in every way that mattered.
Gigi was the most fearless, strongest girl who filled every room with light and left a piece of herself on everyone she ever met.
She fought sarcoma cancer four times. Four times. She was only 19 years old when cancer finally took her from us in June 2025, but not before she showed us what true grit, grace, and joy look like in the face of unimaginable odds.
Growing up alongside Gigi changed our lives forever. The impact she left on our family and everyone who knew her is immeasurable. She gave everything she had to keep fighting, to keep living, to keep being the light we all needed.
Now she’s sitting in the biggest seat in heaven with her dad and grandma, and we’re down here running to say a big F YOU to cancer.
Why This Matters
Every time Gigi beat cancer, Josh wine was our favorite thing to cheers to. We got to celebrate with Gigi all three times she did beat it, like the survivor she was. This girl deserved everything and more. She gave her all to keep going, and now it’s our turn to give our all for her.
I’m running with Fred’s Team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center because 100% of the funds go directly to MSK labs where doctors and scientists work on more than 400 types of cancer. Every dollar raised goes toward making sure other families don’t have to say goodbye to their Gigi.
This run isn’t just about raising money - it’s about sharing a piece of Gigi with the world. It’s about carrying forward the joy she gave us in every happy and every difficult moment. I know she’d want us to pass that on to others who are fighting right now. Those who know Gigi know she lived through everything with a smile on her face, and made sure everyone around her was laughing too.
Please help us honor Gigi’s fight and say fuck you to cancer.
Thank you for your generosity. Every donation means the world to our family and keeps Gigi’s light shining.
