Gabriel McAllister
This November, I am running the New York City Marathon with Fred's Team - the official running program of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center - and I am doing it for my mom, who is an MSK patient.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer my Sophomore year of High School. Watching her face that with strength and grace has changed how I see everything - including what 26.2 miles means. Every long run, every early morning is a small thing compared to what she has done. Running this race is the least I can do, and I cannot wait to dedicate this race to her.
MSK is one of the world's leading cancer centers, with expertise in more than 400 types of cancer. Fred's Team - named in honor of NYC Marathon co-founder and former MSK patient - channels every dollar raised directly into MSK labs, where researchers are working every day to find better treatments and, one day, cures.
Whether you donate, share this page, or just cheer me on from the sidelines - thank you! Your gift goes beyond research and lands with the people who need it most - the families in the middle of this fight today.
This run is for my mom, but your support makes it feel like we're all crossing the finish line together.
