Let’s Imagine a World Without Cancer
Welcome to our fundraising page! We are proud to be running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon with Fred’s Team, the official running program of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). This is our second year running with Fred’s Team, and we are honored to carry Brooke’s memory with us through all five boroughs. Our goal is to support groundbreaking pediatric cancer research at MSK.
We are running in honor of Brooke Audrey D’Aleo, our niece and Brendan’s goddaughter. In 2022, Brooke was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at just 14 years old and immediately began treatment at MSK.
Brooke fought her unimaginable battle with grace, courage, and an infectious smile. When she learned that physical activity could support her recovery, she began walking the halls of MSK every day with determination and enthusiasm. Her energy and discipline quickly inspired those around her—soon, she was joined by a rotating cast of nurses, doctors, family members, and fellow patients. One day, she walked nearly 17 miles, setting a hospital record.
Brooke ran her own marathon for 27 months. On June 27, 2024, she passed away, and now we will complete 26.2 miles in her honor.

Named in honor of New York City Marathon co-founder and MSK patient Fred Lebow, Fred’s Team brings together passionate runners and supporters to lead the way against cancer. 100% of the funds we raise will go directly into MSK labs, where doctors and scientists have expertise in more than 400 types of cancer and work every day to find new cures.
