Scarlett was diagnosed in 2013 with a rare pediatric cancer. As she fought for her life in a hospital room, I decided to break out my running shoes and run a marathon to help raise money for pediatric cancer research. Fast forward 13 years, I have run 13 marathons including 1 ultramarathon (52 miles!!). Scarlett celebrated 6 years cancer free this past December and I have just signed up to run my 14th marathon this fall. While Scarlett’s battle with cancer is over, our family has not left the fight. While I am now jog marathons not for time but rather to finish, I am thrilled to take on the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon with Fred’s Team, the official running program of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). I can proudly state that The Scarlett Fund community has raised over $6,000,000 - 100% donated to pediatric cancer research at MSK.
