The Team Jmared Foundation supports patients battling cancer with the non-medical costs of cancer treatment, such as transportation, parking, housing for out-of-town patients, and childcare or eldercare, as well as other expenses, such as one-time payments towards rent, a mortgage, utilities and other bills.

Jared March founded the Team Jmared Foundation in 2021 after being diagnosed with cancer. From the day he was diagnosed, Jared fought with his full self and showed the world what it means to fight to survive with grace and courage. He fought through countless treatments and surgeries to maximize his time with those he loved. Jared sadly passed away on January 27, 2024 at 28 years old. To be clear, Jared never let his cancer diagnosis define him – he lived every day to the fullest. Over his two-and-a-half-year battle, he fell in love with and married the love of his life, went to South Africa to produce his favorite television show (MTV's The Challenge), traveled the country with family and friends, and, most importantly, made the most of every single day.

Early on in Jared’s fight against cancer, he founded the Team Jmared Foundation to help people with similar diagnoses as him. After launching the foundation, Jared wrote, “I’ve realized how blessed I truly am, even in this unlucky situation. I have a family who has dropped everything to be by my side, a girlfriend who has put all of my needs above her own, an apartment nearby my treatments, and friends who call me every day to check in…I’m blessed to be in a situation where all I have to worry about is fighting everyday because I have the support I need.”

He continued, “There are many people who are in my situation who on top of surviving have to worry about a long list of things -- can they afford the commute to and from appointments, will their insurance cover their treatment, can one of their family members come visit, where can they stay in the city during treatment weeks, etc.”

Through Memorial Sloan Kettering, his foundation has raised over $590,000 to date to help patients and their loved ones. Jared’s family will be carrying on his legacy through the Team Jmared Foundation to continue supporting patients battling cancer. Donations will continue to support non-medical costs of cancer treatment for patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Below is a breakdown of how the funds have supported patients to date:

• $290,000 of funds assisted with housing expenses
• $175,000 of funds assisted with transportation
• $115,000 of funds covered other costs, such as food, utilities, clothing, childcare, and household and personal care items
