Handstand Walk for Kids
HANDSTAND WALK FOR KIDS
A handstand walk-a-thon uniting athletes in the fight against pediatric cancers.
Athletes fundraise and advocate for pediatric cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
Will you donate to help our team and our athletes reach our fundraising goal? Donate $1 or a gazillion, it all adds up!
PEDIATRIC CANCERS ARE UNDERFUNDED
Pediatric cancers are a leading cause of death by disease in children under 19 in the U.S., yet they are often qualified as rare.
Pharmaceutical companies invest minimal resources in developing treatments for pediatric cancers due to limited profit potential. Additionally, the available data set for research is small, further complicating efforts to find effective therapies.
Currently, only 4-5% of the National Cancer Institute's budget is allocated to pediatric cancer research. As a result, funding for new research and treatments for children relies heavily on philanthropic efforts.
We must advocate for increased funding and support to ensure that pediatric cancers receive the attention and resources they urgently need.
100% OF YOUR GIFT SUPPORTS RESEARCH
Every dollar donated goes directly to doctors and researchers. Their work has led to FDA approval of new drugs and other breakthroughs that impact kids and families, not just at MSK Kids but around the world.
