Our Guest Bartending event at Kelly’s Logan House was more than I could have hoped for. I am so grateful to everyone who came out, guest bartended, donated, shopped at Peter Kate, participated in our silent auction, and helped us celebrate what would have been Rich’s 66th birthday.

The love and generosity surrounding Rich’s legacy continue to amaze me — and I want to keep that momentum going.

My next goal is to find 66 people who will each donate $100 to the Richard L. Diver Endowed Research Fellowship Fund at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in honor of Rich’s 66th birthday.

The recent loss of Sydney Towle, who courageously shared her journey with cholangiocarcinoma, is another heartbreaking reminder of why this work is so urgent. Too many patients and families are still facing this rare and aggressive cancer with too few treatment options.

But there is hope — and research is how we create more of it.

Every breakthrough begins with research: a new question, a clinical trial, a discovery in the laboratory, or a young physician-scientist given the opportunity to pursue an idea that could change the future for patients.

That is why we created the Richard L. Diver Endowed Research Fellowship Fund — to invest in the next generation of researchers working to advance the understanding and treatment of hepatobiliary cancers, including cholangiocarcinoma.
