Welcome to my fundraising page! I’m taking on the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon with Fred’s Team, the official running program of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). My goal is to raise as much as I can to support groundbreaking cancer research at MSK, specifically for rare cancers! 

Three years ago, on June 6, 2023, I lost my dad and I've never been the same since. In honor of his life and battle with cancer, I am thrilled to be running the NYC Marathon for the first time! My dad received his treatment with MSK following his diagnosis of a rare cancer called dedifferentiated liposarcoma in 2019. It is the hospital he spent the last weeks of his life before he passed peacefully with our family by his side, praying over him.  Watching him take his last breaths will be forever etched in my memory. 

He was able to pass peacefully and with dignity because of the amazing team at MSK who honored his end of life wishes. I couldn't be more grateful that in his final moments, he had autonomy over his death, something everyone deserves. 

When I'd ask how I'd be able to go on without him, he'd say: "you've got to live your life Cel." When your parents are alive you question how you'll survive without them, the thought feels scary, daunting and unnatural. When you're faced with the nightmare of losing a parent, the "after" feels the same. But I promised my dad to live my life. While the grief is heavy, I still feel so much joy and I'm forever grateful I was blessed with an incredible, out of this world father who carries me through. 

I'm excited to face this challenge to not only run in honor of my dad but anyone whose life is affected by this terrible disease.
