My grandmother, Bonnie Masdea, grew up on a farm in Iowa and went to school in a one-room schoolhouse. She left Iowa for New York City with big dreams, becoming a flight attendant for TWA and meeting my grandfather on one of those flights.
Her life was cut short by ovarian cancer at 66.
On November 1st I'm running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon with Fred's Team in her honor - through the city she went to fly. She told her family she loved them every single day. This is how I'm telling her. And we're gonna go fast!
My grandmother got to chase her dreams. I'm endlessly grateful for every donation that helps someone else's grandmother do the same.
UPDATE: WE HAVE SMASHED THROUGH THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENT AND ARE INCREASING THE GOAL SINCE MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE SUCH LEGENDS.
Every dollar donated goes directly to ovarian cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
