Ben Oren
Every November, the Treasury team at Liberty Media leads an office-wide push to raise funds and awareness for health and cancer research. A special thank you to the liability management team at Credit Suisse (RIP!) who kept the torch alive in New York in my absence.
This year is very special as it is my 10-year anniversary since the second successful cancer battle and 17 years since my first (independent experiences worthy of case study status at Sloan; yeah me).
This year, we've decided to make the fundraising activity less arduous and just have some fun with it.
Everyone at Liberty is encouraged to set their own ambitious health-focused goal to achieve by the end of November and to shave as often as they wish. In addition we will be having weekly raffles and prizing to encourage everyone to attend the regular exercise programs we have scheduled in the building.
Personally I will be growing the usual beard, committing to 5 salads per week and no alcohol while in Colorado (exception made for the highly anticipated F1 race in Las Vegas).
Memorial Sloan Kettering (and an immensely supportive family) gets all the credit for my survival and stands ready to support anyone else who may have to deal with this in their lifetime. Funds raised will go to a program for Fellows to come from all over the world to MSKCC, learn their techniques and go back into the world to spread improved treatment everywhere.
Please consider joining the team and making a gift to our Giving Page and Thank You!
Sincerely,
Ben, Jessica, Stephan, Rob, Mandy and Joy
