The funds that we raise will go directly to MSK for detection and research of late-stage pancreatic cancer. Nobody should have to go through what Shelly had to endure. We all know Shelly's journey and we won't relive it on this page. We are so thankful to you for donating and helping us fight this terrible illness. Details below about Wednesday's event and a little bit about our beloved Shelly:
Date: Wednesday, November 29
Location: Artifact Gallery - 155 Suffolk Street (between Houston and Stanton) - New York, NY 10002
Time: 6-8pm
Join us for a special night as we celebrate the life of Shelly with a curated art exhibition.
Shelly is remembered as a devoted mother, nana, wife, friend, and celebrated artist. She was a carefree and spirited presence but she was also deeply interested in current events and the world around her. She doted after her grandchildren while continuing her passions for the arts, and maintaining deep friendships. Not one to sit still, except in a painting class, she loved exploring the streets of New York City, watching a movie or reading an eclectic variety of books and newspapers. Shelly had an innate curiosity, leading her to embark on numerous successful careers, and she was so, so funny. We will never forget her love and all that made her so unique. We are fortunate to have her paintings as a reminder of her vibrant creative spirit, and a life lived with purpose and in color.
In addition to the exhibition of more than 50 of Shelly's paintings that had special significance to her and our family, 25 of these paintings will be available for purchase during a "silent auction" from 6-7:30pm. All direct donations and proceeds from the auction will be directed to MSK's ongoing research for the earlier detection of late-stage pancreatic cancer.
