Why I chose to support MSK

As the daughter of a breast cancer survivor and patient of Memorial Sloan Kettering, it is safe to say that my mom received world-class treatment and care at MSK. Their dedication and respect toward my mom have inspired me to help them in their journey to make treatment more accessible and further breast cancer research.

Additionally, I am an advocate for women's rights, especially the right to healthcare access. One in eight women is diagnosed with breast cancer yearly, and this statistic is increasing. Still, breast cancer is traditionally the most expensive cancer to treat, leaving 47 percent of women unavailable to life-saving care. According to the CDC, treatment costs 14 percent more than other types of cancer treatment. In addition to the fact that women only make 77 cents to every dollar a man makes, it is essential to help provide treatment to breast cancer patients. As more and more women are diagnosed with breast cancer, now is the most crucial time to donate. Furthermore, added research can lead to cheaper breast cancer treatment forms.

The thorough breast cancer research at MSK will help women detect and protect themselves from breast cancer earlier, which will result in saving thousands of women. By donating, you will directly help continue MSK's breast cancer research and treatment program; please help me reach my goal by donating to life-saving research that will help many breast cancer patients.
