In Memory of Tom Uzzo
Our family lost an amazing person on April 27, 2020. The world will never be the same without Tom. It was only a few months ago, when we learned what Intestinal T-Cell Lymphoma was and how rare and aggressive this cancer was. Tom was diagnosed back in January and lost his very short battle with this rare form of cancer at the young age of 64.
Tom had an amazing life filled with so many remarkable people. He leaves behind his beloved wife Cindy, stepdaughter [from a previous marriage] Amy, 5 siblings, nieces, nephews and too many friends to name here that he always considered family. He had a heart big enough support so many and always found a way to make any situation manageable. “hey man” “yo” "we got this". He leaves behind a legacy in the projects, people and music he left behind on this earth. Tom's musical and recording talents impacted every genre of music from Jazz to Hip Hop and everything in between. He never considered anything he did work because he had a passion for everything he touched. Most recently he had the opportunity to work with a great team of people at the WWE mixing live sound. Who would of guessed his career would lead him there?
Tom had so many talents, musician, songwriter, recording engineer and recording studio owner just to name a few. His abilities went far beyond that and those who relied on his broad band of knowledge will be left with a huge void. Tom touched so many lives. Everyone was the same in his eyes, whether he was helping a young aspiring musician, or a famed recording artist. He treated everyone with the same love and respect. The outpouring of love our family received during his transition was truly overwhelming and true tribute to who Tom was as a person.
As I write this to everyone, finding a treatment and cure for Intestinal T-Cell Lymphoma is critical. Tom’s battle may have been lost, but others can live on by supporting the research to advance the mission of finding a cure. I ride in the cycle for survival every year to support rare cancer research and will continue to raise funding for research until there is a cure and cancer is eradicated! The research MSK conducts reaches the far corners of the globe. It impacts people from all different socio-economic backgrounds and is truly the only way to move forward to finding a cure.
Know that for all the lives that have touched Tom, you truly made a difference for him and our hope is that he has made a difference in yours.
Love wins in the end. Let the music play on and continue the legacy of Tom always.
Peace, Love, Happiness and most of all Passion and Good Health to all!
Lots of Love,
Liz
