In Memory of Colleen and Megan Mazza

    Donate Now

Colleen M. Mazza (née Ryan), 65, of Lincroft, NJ. Colleen passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones after battling cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of bile duct cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, godmother, and friend to many. Colleen spent many years caretaking Megan, and the Neuroblastoma research team is near and dear to her heart.

Megan C. Mazza, 35, of Lincroft, N.J. passed away peacefully at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC with her family by her side on March 25, 2020, after a 5 year battle with Stage IV High Risk Neuroblastoma. At the time of her diagnosis in 2015, she wasn't given a positive outlook. Despite the odds being against her, Megan fought for her life and overcame multiple challenges over the course of the last 5 years. While Neuroblastoma is a rare pediatric cancer, Megan's fight opened the door for many doctors, nurses, patients, and families to learn more about the devastating disease that rarely impacts adults. The team at MSK became Megan's second family as they continued to love her and support her while she was fighting for her life. Because of the team at MSK and Megan's strong-willed and determined personality, her life was prolonged much more than had been initially anticipated. Megan and the Mazza family are extremely thankful for the second family of nurses and doctors they gained throughout Megan's multiple years in and out of MSK.

In lieu of flowers, the Mazza family is raising money for Neuroblastoma research at Memorial Sloan Kettering—where new discoveries are revolutionizing how cancer is diagnosed and treated. The team of nurses and doctors at MSK did everything in their power to keep Megan comfortable and happy while fighting this horrible disease.
