Whether you knew him as Burt, Dad, Professor, Uncle, Coach, Mr. Roslyn, or Gramps, Dad left his mark wherever he went. In the 9 months between his original diagnosis and his passing, Dad insisted he was living with cancer, not dying from it. Whenever he had the chance, usually in between letting everyone know that he "built" the outpatient MSK building where many of his appointments were held, Dad always expressed his gratitude and admiration for Dr. Rudin and the MSK staff who cared for him. Because of these people, Dad lived out his life as he wanted, seeing his family and teaching.

Growing up Dad always tried to instill in us the notions of mitzvot (good deeds) and tzedakah (charity). Dad always gave back to the community, and taught us the importance of helping those in need. Along with his legendary temperament, this was his legacy. We have set up this page for you to honor Dad's legacy by donating to MSK's noble mission of finding a cure for cancer, and more specifically the Charles Rudin Lab, which focuses on novel approaches to treating lung cancer.
