In Memory of Regina Sherman
Regina Anne Sherman, wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend passed away on May 4, 2020. Regina was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 7, 1960 to Florence and Laurence Sherman. She was a devoted wife to Kal and a loving mother to sons Jon, Ben and Zach.
She was the matriarch of her family; the one who made sure everyone was together for holidays, family celebrations and summers at the beach. She was a caring friend and great listener who could always be counted on for advice and empathy. Her philosophy was to live in the moment and always show up.
Regina was a graduate of James Madison High School, the State University of New York at Albany, and the NYU Stern School of Business. She had an illustrious career at American Express and Prudential Insurance. In 2008 she started her own company, ActionCOACH Business, where she consulted corporate executives on leadership and management strategy. Later she started her second company, Pelham Business Advisors, and most recently worked at Lapin International as a Leadership Consultant and Coach.
While both were working at Prudential, Regina met Kal Ketzlach, the love of her life. Their first date was in January of 1988 and the two were married in December of that year. Regina and Kal were together for 32 years, traveled the world and raised three beautiful boys in Mendham, New Jersey.
She devoted her time giving back to her community and volunteering her business expertise as a Board Trustee on the Mendham, NJ Commons Board of Trustees. She was also a member of the Mendham, NJ Borough Board of Education and as a special advocate for children with CASA Morris and Sussex counties.
Regina will be remembered for her phenomenal cooking, especially her chocolate chip cookies, which seemed to disappear as soon as they came out of the oven. Her beautiful needlepoints and the tallis bags she made for bar and bat mitzvahs will always be treasured.
Regina’s family was the pride and joy of her life. She and Kal hosted Thanksgiving dinner every year and loved having everyone spend the summer together at their beach house on Long Beach Island. Her generosity extended beyond her family, making everyone feel welcome in her home.
We will always remember her warm smile and will miss the love she shared with us.
She fought the disease that took her from us way too soon with dignity, strength and grace.
