Friends,

I am starting this page in memory of my wife, Mary Grace Dirks, who recently died of colon cancer.

The loss has been devastating, and one of the few comforts I have found is continuing to do things for her, in hopes of making her happy. 

She was happy with her treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering - they took excellent care of her, to the very end. People have been asking me how they might donate in her name, and I thought of this. I think she would approve. 

So, I'm raising money for critical cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering - specifically targeted towards colon cancer, which caused us such harm. This may help the next person.  

Also - please consider getting yourself checked out. It seems this is occurring at younger ages now. For us, it was too late when we learned of it.
