In Memory of Minoo Ghaemmaghami
Our dear sister Minoo Ghaemmaghami, was born in Tehran, Iran, on April 21, 1958, as the second child. She was smart, and bright, and was very interested in learning. She started school ahead of time and attended “Ravesh No” school as her primary school. She attended Don Bosco School, and later Shahrzad and Reza Shah Kabir high schools, and received a diploma of natural science. She received her four year Bachelor's degree at the Institute of Hospital and Paramedical Sciences in Tehran. She also received another degree at the Cardiovascular Hospital Empress Pahlavi (Bonyad Malakeh Pahlavi). She started to work at a young age at the Cardiovascular Hospital in Shemiran.
After a short while, in 1978, she immigrated with her mother to the United States. She resided here and became a citizen of this country and stayed here for the rest of her life. She took the California Nursing Board Exam (National Council Licensure Examination- R.N.), which is a difficult test, and passed it successfully at her first attempt. She received her license as a Registered Nurse. Then she started to work at the Holy Cross Hospital. Later she worked at different positions at different facilities. She was Director of Nursing at Beverly Manor Convalescent Hospital and Supervisor nurse at Canoga Hospital. For years, as a Supervisor Nurse, Director of Nursing she worked at different hospitals, medical agencies, Healthcare, and Hospice groups. She worked faithfully and responsibly as unto the Lord.
In 2016, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent the treatment; chemotherapy and surgery. Her cancer was under control, and she was able to take care of her mother, who had become sick at that time. She took wonderful care of her mother until she passed away. Unfortunately, after that, cancer recurred, and she received the second series of Chemo. Unfortunately, her cancer was an aggressive type. Her oncologist ordered Radiation therapy.
She struggled hard with cancer and the treatments. Last July, she was hospitalized. Unfortunately, despite her hard battle and receiving treatments, cancer metastasized, and after 18 days of hospitalization, she was discharged. We were glad to have her with us for her last few days in our home.
On August 2nd, 2020, she was called to her eternal home and left us here. Her love, passion, honesty, sincerity, humanity, generosity, and compassion were an example to all of us. Her love will always be in our hearts, and her memory dear to us, as long as we live.
She is and will be greatly missed.
